BERNARDIN DE SAINT-PIERRE (Jacques-Henri).
Paul and Virginia. Paris, P. Didot l'Ainé, 1806. In-4, red morocco, set of fat and lean fillets in frames decorating the dishes and back, inside fillets, golden slices, case (Chambolle-Duru). Superb neo-classical illustration with a portrait of the author and 6 plates by Prudhon, Isabey, Moreau the young, Laffite, Girodet and Gérard. Very nice copy on vellum paper, perfectly established by Chambolle-Duru, with 3 states of engravings including pure etching and one state printed in color by Langlois. A few shots.
