TROUILLE Clovis
AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED TO [ANDRÉ BRETON]. 5 original photographs with captions. LETTER DATED PARIS, JUNE 28, 1947. A PAGE IN-12 IN THE INK: "I have received your message and I was very pleased. I telephoned you in vain, having great qualms about disturbing the writer. As I suspect that you must be surrounded and even bothered, I have a souvenir of my clergy in saturnalia deposited with your concierge. You will find two photos of the final state of two paintings that you know of and which were unfortunately not finished in the past. There's a second picture of the funeral, quite different, but I don't have a picture yet. Dear Sir, believe me, your lifelong admirer, Clovis Scaredy-cat." - Photograph bearing on the back of Clovis Trouille's hand "Le Baiser du Confesseur" and the mention Clovis Trouille in the hand of André Breton, as well as the stamp of the Bureau des Recherches Surréalistes. - La Partouze, text by Clovis Trouille on the back, 1930: "This painting was in progress when you do me the honour of a visit". Photo Marc Vaux. - Atomized Yoga, titled on the back by Clovis Trouille. - Remembrance, captioned on the back by Clovis Trouille "Final state to André Breton. Yours sincerely, Clovis Trouille" - My funeral, captioned by André Breton on the back, photo Maywald. Slight trace of tape. REMARKABLE DOCUMENTS OF CLOVIS SCARE, GENIUS PAINTER.
