Kerr, Justin, The Maya Vase Book: A Corpus of Rollout Photographs of Maya Vases - vol. 3, Kerr Associates, New York, 1992, p. 380, (K3026) Published by Justin Kerr on page 380 of the third volume of his Maya Vase Book, the polychrome decoration of this tall cylindrical vase appears - in spite of its erosion - as a scene of historical type. A richly adorned and dressed man, armed with what appears to be an "eccentric" flint in his left hand and a (stone?) ball in his right, faces a more simply dressed man sketching the affable gesture of the "god E" of corn. In front of each of them (in the middle of the scene), two iconographic legends in the form of a chicane are interspersed (ten glyphs in front of the most important character on the right and five glyphs in front of the other man on the left). The advanced state of alteration of these inscriptions is not the only reason why they do not shed any light on the identity of these characters, since the less eroded of their glyphs suggest in fact that they tended essentially only towards pseudo-glyphs. The horizontal inscription of ten glyphs that surmounts the scene is, on the other hand, more significant. Its similarly advanced state of deterioration does not
