Works. New edition. The Hague, Jean Neaulme, 1740, In-4, marbled calf, triple cold fillet, decorated back, red title piece, remains of handwritten side label in tail, red slices (period binding). Collective edition, in part original, of the scientific works of the French physicist, illustrated with 26 copper-engraved folding plates (numbered from I to XXV and IV*) representing geometric figures relating to percussion, water movement, colours, levelling, clock movement, logic, etc. Edme Mariotte (around 1620-1684) was one of the founders of experimental physics in France.
