Original edition, decorated with 2 facsimile plates. Pietro Cossali, a mathematician born in Verona in 1748, taught physics and astronomy at the University of Parma and then mathematics in Padua where he died in 1815. Paperback copy, as published, of a signed letter from the translator, Baldassarre Boncompagni, to the Marquis d'Adda, for the first guard. Clear freckles. Small paper shortages on the back.
