MANUSCRIT. — [FABRE DU BOSQUET]
Phisico-Mitho-Cabalo-Hermetic concordance. In-8 manuscript (230 x 140 mm) of 234 pages, red morocco, large golden lace, decorated back, green title piece, inner roller, golden edges, case (boxed in a contemporary binding). Interesting alchemical text by Fabre du Bosquet, an alchemist at the end of the 18th century who was close to the alchemist and freemason Louis-François de Bourbon Busset. This text, which was widely distributed at the time in the form of handwritten copies, highlights the concordance between mythology, physics, cabal and hermeticism. The author talks about the science of Nature, dephlogistic air with numerous references to Raymond Lulle, Valentin, the Cosmopolitan, etc., provides an analysis of mythological mercury and an emerald table by Hermes Trismegistus. The manuscript ends with a Summary of the progressive changes through which the first material of the hermetic work must pass to reach the degree of universal solvent (pp. 228-233). Text set in pencil. The manuscript, in perfectly legible handwriting, dates from the late 18th century and was placed in a lace morocco binding of the time. Modern title piece.
