MANUSCRIT. — CHRYSOLOGIE
Chemical Chrisology. Divided into two books in which is manifested what has been hidden and veiled by Antiquity and in which all the difficulties of art are elucidated from the golden germ of genealogy with the anatomy of water. In-4 manuscript (202 x 152 mm) of about 50 sheets, marbled calf, triple cold fillet, decorated back, red title piece, red edges (18th century binding). An 18th century manuscript, decorated with 2 original watercolour drawings: the first, shown opposite the title, is a bottle containing the essence of plants, animals and minerals; the second represents a triumphant phoenix in the bottles. The manuscript was completed at the end with 12 and a half pages of various remedies of a different writing. It belonged to Louis-François de Bourbon-Busset (1749-1829), alchemist and freemason, with his printed label and his handwritten ex-libris on a guard. Some restorations to the binding.
