Extract from Bazile Valentin's[antimony] triumphal chariot. N/A early 18th century]. In-4 manuscript (226 x 180 mm) of 34 unencumbered sheets, half fallow calf (modern binding). An 18th century manuscript describing the virtues of antimony and its applications, with many annotations and alchemical signs. This treatise, attributed to Basil Valentine, a 15th century Benedictine monk who was versed in alchemy, is one of the oldest on the subject and was printed at the beginning of the 17th century. In particular, there is a German edition of 1606 and a Latin edition given in Toulouse forty years later under the title Currus triumphalis antimonii. Title written in blue felt pen on the first dish.
