Universal dictionary of simple drugs. Third edition. Paris, De l'Imprimerie de la Veuve d'Houry, 1733. High volume in-4, brown calf, triple cold fillet, decorated back, red title piece, red speckled slices (period binding). Portrait of the author on the frontispiece and 25 copper-engraved plates, each containing 16 figures of plants and animals, for a total of 400 subjects. Copy that belonged to the chemist Antoine Lavoisier, with his ex-libris engraved. Large armorized ex-libris engraved by Jean Jean, bearing the motto Invenit perficit (abbey of Gomerfontaine, of the order of Citeaux?). Freckles, significant wetness, wormholes crossing the notebooks over the entire volume. Binding restorations.
