INDAGINE
Introductiones apotelesmaticae in physiognomiam, complexiones hominum, astrologiam naturalem, naturas planetarum. Strasbourg, Heirs Lazare Zetzner, 1630, In-8, granite basane, decorated back, slices speckled with red (Binding of the time). Famous work of Johannes de Indagine (1415-1475), a German Carthusian skilled in astronomy and astrology. This Strasbourg edition is decorated with numerous figures on wood relating to palmistry, astrology, physiognomy, etc. It contains the treatises of William Gratarole and Luc Gauric, to whom we owe most of the horoscopes of the great figures of the 16th century, especially those of Catherine de Médicis and King Henri II (Dorbon). Handwritten bookplates erased at the head and foot of the title, revealing a halo. From the Lucien Sandrier Library of La Tour de Mitry, Consul General of France, with his ex-libris. A little worm work on the edge of a few leaves, some browning. Used binding, lining and guards renewed.
