Amsterdam, Johannes Jansson, 1651. 6 parts in one volume in-12, marbled basane, cold fillet, number N in a medallion and accompanied by a semé of golden stars in the centre, back decorated, number N repeated in the boxes, slices speckled with red (Binding from the late seventeenth century). First Latin edition of this treatise on alchemy describing all kinds of philosophical stoves, horns and other utensils used by the hermetic philosophers of the time. It is decorated with 2 (out of 3) folding plates and some wooden figures in the text. Manuscript bookplate dated 1693 on the general title. Number N undetermined. First line of the general title and some common titles cut by the binder's knife, as well as the upper part of a board. Wetness and freckles on a few leaves. Cracking and cracking in the jaws.
