DANTE
Dante. Con l'espositione sopra la sua Comedia dell'Inferno, del Purgatorio, & del Paradisio. Venice, Pietro da Fino, 1568. In-4, rigid vellum with overlapping, title and coat of arms painted on the back, red speckled edges decorated with painted decoration (Modern binding). Colomb de Batines, t. I, p. 93. - Mortimer, Italian, n°149. First edition commented by Bernardino Daniello. Beautifully printed, the text in italics framed by Daniello's abundant commentary in Roman characters, it is adorned with 3 beautiful full-page copper figures illustrating Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. Large typographical mark on the back of the last leaflet. Curious binding decorated in the style of the famous volumes of the Pillone collection. It is worn on the lower back and on the upper and lower edges of the undetermined coat of arms. Wet stamp of the repeated University Seminar of Lyon, rating at the top of the title. Brown ink stain masking a word on page 342; wetness on the title and several notebooks, more or less important. Short introductory sheets at the top, with a small gap of a few millimetres at the top of the first engraving.
