Chimia in artis formam redacta. Jena, Johann Reiffenberger, 1641. In-12, marbled rigid vellum, ribbed back, red title piece, speckled edges (18th century binding). Ferguson, t. I, p. 124. Second edition, expanded by Werner Rolfinck. The last two speeches concern antimony and drinking gold. The book, first published in 1630, was published on the basis of the courses taught at the University of Jena by the doctor and chemist Zacharias Brendel (1592-1638). The copy belonged to Count Louis-François de Bourbon-Busset (1749-1829), alchemist and freemason, with his ex-libris label. Browning, tiny gallery of worms on the edge of some introductory sheets. Small slit with a bit and minimal lack of tail.
