In-8, green morocco, triple gilt net, smooth back decorated, inner roller, gilt edges (Binding from the second half of the 18th century). Ferguson, t. I, p. 222 - not in Caillet or Dorbon. Original edition of this commented Latin translation of the Book of Alchemy by Bernard le Trévisan, a famous Paduan alchemist who lived in the 15th century and who claimed to possess the secret of the Philosopher's Stone. It was established by Gerhard Dorn, disciple and publisher of Paracelsus, who accompanied it with Zecaire's booklet on the natural philosophy of metals and Nicolas Flamel's Annotationses. Wetness on the title. Small works of worms to about ten sheets at the end of the volume, with sometimes loss of letters or words (mostly redone with a pen). Back passed.
