Seven Minute Self portrait (Daguerre's assistant) Paris, Thursday July 1st, 1841 Daguerreotype 1/2 plate, glass mount. 165x126 mm. Provenance : atelier Petiot-Groffier, collection Jammes Petiot-Groffier was one of very few photographers who had meet with Niepce, being a neighbour, when Richebourg helped directly Daguerre as an operator. This association of two characters with one of the earliest surviving selfportrait allows us to travel close to the origin of photography
